Micro-/nano-scale WC particle-reinforced Cu-based composite preparation and property study

In this paper, Cu-based composites were prepared by the powder metallurgy method with spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique using WC (tungsten carbide) particles as reinforcing phase and Cu matrix. The effect of temperature on electrical mechanical properties was investigated, variation in content investigated at optimum temperature. microstructure 5 wt. % WC/Cu different temperatures 850 °C determined When SPS °C, yield strength, compressive strain, hardness 10 321 MPa, 743 40.42%, 143.2 HV, respectively, which increased strength 697.82% 246.84%, compared pure material.
